Today I worked in my Quilt Studio and finished the backing for the secret quilt I am doing. Since I am on an earnest quest to use up scraps, I decided to use leftover crazy nine-patch blocks and lots of scraps for this backing. Slowly but surely - like removing grains of sand from the desert - I am eliminating little pieces of my stash.
My Quilt Studio is in the basement and today I spent a great deal of time in the area that is not carpeted. I got a serious case of cold feet! The forecast is for warmer weather in the next few days. I hope the warm-up reaches the basement floor.

What a perfect description: grains of sand from the desert! That's exactly what my one block at a time feels like!
